DR. WENDY CHING, DMD
Dr. Wendy Ching is a caring dentist who treats her patients like family. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of British Columbia and completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree in 2009. Dr. Ching is passionate about helping families maintain healthy smiles and provides personalized care for every patient.
She has a special interest in periodontal treatments, such as gum grafting, to create a strong foundation for patients with gum issues. Dr. Ching continues her education with the renowned Dr. Otto Zhur at the IDEA Institute to ensure her patients receive the best possible care. She also enjoys restorative dentistry, using composite bonding (BioClear method) to preserve natural tooth structure and improve smiles.
Dr. Ching believes in the benefits of Invisalign, not just for aesthetics, but for better dental health. By aligning teeth, it makes oral hygiene easier and supports proper bite function. She’s proud to speak Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, making it easier for families from different backgrounds to feel comfortable in her care.
Raised in Richmond and now living in Steveston with her husband, Dr. Jan Kantoch, and their two young boys, Dr. Ching loves being part of this vibrant community. When she’s not in the office, you can find her enjoying outdoor activities, skiing, and making memories with her family.
DR. JAN (IAN) KANTOCH, DMD
Dr. Jan Kantoch, also known as Dr. Ian, is a skilled and dedicated dentist with a passion for helping his patients achieve optimal oral health. Originally from Alberta, Dr. Ian completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Alberta before moving to British Columbia to pursue dental school at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He further enhanced his dental skills and experience with medically compromised patients by completing a General Practice Residency at UBC.
With a keen interest in the surgical aspects of dentistry, Dr. Ian has focused much of his practice on periodontal care, endodontics, and implant dentistry. He has spent the last decade advancing his knowledge through multiple continuing education courses to stay current with the latest developments in periodontal and implant technology and techniques, ensuring his patients receive the highest quality care.
In his personal life, Dr. Ian is happily married to Dr. Wendy Ching, the co-owner of the dental practice. Together, they are raising two young boys in the charming Steveston area of Richmond, a community they both love. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Ian enjoys spending time with his family, engaging in outdoor activities like skiing and sailing.
Dr. Ian’s commitment to both his profession and family drives his passion for delivering compassionate and comprehensive dental care to his patients.
Dr. JENNY KWOK, DMD
Dr. Jenny Kwok is a compassionate and skilled dentist dedicated to providing gentle, stress-free dental care for patients of all ages. With a warm and patient-centered approach, Dr. Jenny understands that visiting the dentist can feel overwhelming for some, which is why creating a calm, comfortable experience is a top priority.
After earning a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from The University of Sydney, Dr. Jenny pursued additional training in oral surgery, restorative care and cosmetic dentistry. With 7 years of experience, Dr. Jenny practices gentle techniques that maximize comfort, ensuring every patient feels at ease.
At Family Tree Dental, Dr. Jenny believes that a healthy smile starts with a positive dental experience. Beyond just treating teeth, Dr. Jenny is passionate about empowering patients to take control of their oral health by providing education, guidance, and personalized care. By helping patients understand their dental health and preventive care options, Dr. Jenny ensures they feel confident in making informed decisions about their smiles.
Dr. Jenny also believes that a strong foundation is the key to long-term oral health. From preventive care and routine cleanings to restorative and cosmetic treatments, every treatment plan is designed to support a lifetime of healthy, beautiful smiles.
Outside of the office, Dr. Jenny enjoys hiking, camping, off-roading and going on roadtrips with her husband, daughter and 2 dogs in their orange Toyota Tacoma.
